Patient Check-In & Front Office Coordinator-Cardiology Practice- Chhokar Clinic Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, organized, and personable Patient Check-In & Front Office Coordinator to join our cardiology practice. This position is an important part of creating a positive patient experience while ensuring that the front-office workflow remains efficient, accurate, and organized. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment, enjoys interacting with patients of all ages, has strong communication and problem-solving skills, and can confidently manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival. Check patients in efficiently and accurately while maintaining a smooth patient flow. Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation. Run and verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Collect copays, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments accurately. Maintain an accurate and consistent count of daily patient appointments and ensure scheduled patients are accounted for. Monitor the schedule throughout the day and identify patients who are late, have not arrived, or were checked in late. Communicate promptly with clinical and administrative staff regarding late arrivals, schedule changes, or other patient-flow concerns. Help create and maintain an even, efficient workflow throughout the office. Problem-solve front-office and patient issues professionally and appropriately. Pull and prepare medical records and other necessary documentation for upcoming patient appointments. Ensure patients are checked in within an appropriate and timely manner. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, other staff members, and patients. Handle sensitive patient information with professionalism and maintain confidentiality. Assist with other front-office responsibilities as needed to support the overall operation of the practice. Qualifications & Skills Previous medical office or healthcare front-desk experience preferred. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) required; eClinicalWorks experience strongly preferred . Previous experience in cardiology or a specialty medical practice is preferred . Strong computer and data-entry skills. Experience verifying insurance and collecting patient payments preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work professionally and effectively with patients of all ages. Comfortable addressing problems and finding practical solutions. Ability to communicate clearly with clinical staff when issues arise. Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Professional, friendly, and patient-focused demeanor.
