Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Office Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional patient service. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, performing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth clinic workflows. Your expertise in medical administrative support and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems will be essential to maintaining efficient clinic operations and delivering outstanding patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent customer service in both English and Spanish. Schedule appointments accurately using Athenahealth EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.. Verify patient insurance information, including health insurance knowledge related to Medicare and other plans, ensuring proper documentation review. Manage medical records and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with medical billing processes, including collection of payments and understanding of medical billing procedures. Answer phone calls promptly with professional phone etiquette; handle inquiries related to appointments, billing, or general clinic information. Support clinical staff by performing clerical duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical documentation. Utilize computer skills to update patient information in EMR/EHR systems and ensure accurate documentation. Coordinate with healthcare providers for appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and patient communication in both English and Spanish. Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while adhering to office policies on health information management. Skills Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is essential for effective communication with diverse patient populations. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance procedures, and clinical confidentiality policies. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Athenahealth; experience with electronic health records management is preferred. Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and effective verbal communication abilities. Demonstrated clerical experience in a healthcare setting or medical office environment. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare claims submission is advantageous. Experience working in similar healthcare facilities is a plus but not mandatory. Pay:
From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.0 - 40.0 per week
