Job Description

VCA River City Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and hardworking Patient Care Attendant to join our team. This is a full-time position that plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our patients. The ideal candidate enjoys working with animals, takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital. Previous animal-care experience is preferred, but veterinary hospital experience is not required.
Duties include:
Restraining animals for doctor and technician Administering medications under the supervision of the technician Assisting with obtaining lab samples Running labs on our in-house machines (including learning how to troubleshoot machines) Monitoring hospitalized patients during treatments and during surgery recovery. Surgical pack preparation. Cleaning kennels and replacing bedding for hospitalized patients Offering food and water to hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician Walking hospitalized patients under the supervision of the technician Assisting with sedated or anesthetized procedures as needed (set up and break down, cleaning, moving patients in and out of O/R, etc.) General cleaning duties inside and outside the hospital, including laundry, sweeping/mopping, restocking medical supplies, maintaining medical equipment If you are a current associate, you will need to apply through our internal career site.
