Medical/Office Assistant - Premier Podiatry Bloomington, IL (with satellite office in Pontiac) Premier Podiatry is seeking a motivated, reliable, and patient-focused Medical/Office Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment and wants to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Position Overview As a Medical/Office Assistant, you will provide essential clinical and administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our practice. You will work directly alongside our physicians, assisting with patient care, office workflow, and clinical procedures. Our main office is in Bloomington , with satellite coverage in Pontiac approximately 1-1½ days per week.
Schedule:
Part-time or Full-time positions available (30-38 hours per week) In-person only (no remote work)
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients warmly and seamlessly transition between front office and clinical duties Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital information, and accurately document in the electronic health record (ModMed) Perform digital X-rays (training provided) Anticipate physician needs by preparing exam rooms, instruments, and supplies in advance Input clinical findings and assist with patient care management Call insurance companies for pre-determinations, certifications, and follow up on billing issues as needed Provide routine patient education and instructions Manage exam room inventory, instrument sterilization, and general clinical supplies Handle telephone messages and respond to patient, physician, and pharmacy inquiries professionally and timely
Requirements & Skills:
Previous medical office or clinical experience strongly preferred High degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA) Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to our Pontiac satellite office twice per week
Compensation & Benefits:
