Job Shift Days Category Administrative/Clerical Apply Description Job Summary :
The Patient Support Associate performs clerical duties for the practice including answering and routing all incoming calls, documenting medical questions from patients in EHR, typing, faxing, filing, scanning, and processing mail. The associate will schedule appointments over the phone, perform insurance eligibility checks and obtain patient demographic information. The Patient Support Associate may also perform other administrative tasks and projects for the clinic as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
Answers all incoming calls, routing to the appropriate party if necessary in an efficient and courteous manner Schedules appointments and verifies insurance and other demographic information Processes all inbound faxed documents Generates messages to providers in EHR for patent medical questions/needs Returns patient phone calls in a timely, efficient manner Scans and links results into the patient's chart and create workload tasks Processes, sorts and distributes all mail (Inbound and Outbound) for the medical offices Performs other clerical responsibilities and projects as assigned
Qualifications Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Medical terminology course or background preferred
Technical Skills :
Must be able to complete computer work. Typing of 40-50 wpm preferred
Experience Requirements:
Experience in a medical setting
Other Requirements :
Excellent communication, strong customer service and interpersonal skills are necessary.
