A Brief Overview:
The Patient Access Representative Lead is responsible for supervising and leading the patient access department, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of patient registrations, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage. This role plays a critical part in optimizing the patient experience and supporting the hospital's commitment to high-quality healthcare services.
What you will do:
Lead and manage the patient access department, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of patient access professionals, promoting accountability and teamwork. Perform and assist with advanced patient registration tasks, including handling complex patient registration scenarios. Ensure accuracy in the collection and entry of patient demographic and insurance information into the hospital's electronic health records system. Coordinate and supervise patient appointment scheduling for various healthcare services, ensuring efficient scheduling practices. Handle scheduling for specialized services, follow-up appointments, and complex scheduling scenarios. Supervise and guide insurance verification processes, including resolving complex insurance-related issues. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring the accuracy of policy information. Collaborate with insurance providers and billing teams on verification matters. Provide guidance to the patient access team on effective patient communication, addressing patient questions and concerns. Assist in training and mentoring newer patient access representatives. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the patient experience, including minimizing wait times and ensuring a welcoming environment.
What you will need:
Associates Degree Health Administration Required 3 Years Previous experience in patient access, healthcare administration, or a related field is required, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience. And Experience using patient registration and scheduling systems.
