Patient Care Coordinator - Dental Office South Shore Smiles - St. John, Indiana South Shore Smiles is looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Patient Care Coordinator to join our growing dental team. We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys working with people, provides exceptional customer service, and can help create a smooth and welcoming experience for our patients from their first phone call through completion of treatment. Our Patient Care Coordinator plays an important role in keeping the office organized, maintaining a productive schedule, and ensuring every patient feels cared for and valued. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and provide an excellent patient experience Answer incoming phone calls, texts, and patient inquiries professionally Schedule and confirm patient appointments Maintain an organized and productive doctor and hygiene schedule Assist patients with scheduling recommended treatment Follow up with patients who have unscheduled treatment Review basic treatment plans, estimated patient portions, and payment options Verify dental insurance benefits and patient information when needed Collect patient payments and accurately maintain patient accounts Help manage appointment confirmations, cancellations, and schedule changes Coordinate new patient appointments and ensure necessary paperwork is completed Communicate effectively with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and other front-office team members Maintain accurate patient records and protect patient confidentiality Help the practice achieve goals related to patient care, scheduling, collections, and overall patient satisfaction Qualifications Excellent communication and customer-service skills Friendly, positive, and professional attitude Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask in a busy dental office Dependable and team-oriented Comfortable discussing treatment costs and financial arrangements with patients Strong computer and telephone skills Previous dental office experience is preferred Experience with dental scheduling, insurance, or treatment coordination is a plus What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, communicates confidently with patients, and enjoys being part of a high-performing team.
