Job Description

JOB SUMMARY AND SPECIFICATIONS JOB SUMMARY
The Referral Coordinator works collaboratively with Primary Care Physicians, Managers and Staff and all members of the Patient Transition Center to ensure efficient and effective patient referral processes. The Referral Coordinator is responsible for completing all steps in the referral order process. Responsibilities include obtaining prior authorizations for patient visits/procedures to be performed in the practice or by a referral physician, scheduling Specialty appointments, transmitting patient documents for the referral, communicating with the patient during the referral process, and ensuring the referral process has been completed. Other responsibilities may include insurance verification and obtaining prior authorizations for diagnostic testing. The Referral Coordinator will work to implement best practices for the patient referral process. They will act as a resource for other team members in the Patient Transition Center.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Professional & Technical Skills NextGen user experience and excellent communication skills. License(s) or Certification(s) LPN license or Medical Assistant Certification with current working knowledge of Physician Office Operations. Other Skills or Requirements Must demonstrate a mature and responsible attitude in dealing with physicians, patients and staff. Must be able to work independently and possess exceptional customer service skills.
