Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Office Assistant, where your energetic and detail-oriented approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient experiences. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and providers alike, managing administrative tasks with precision and professionalism. Your knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems will contribute to efficient clinic workflows and accurate documentation. We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding healthcare support. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, manage appointment scheduling, and coordinate patient intake processes Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification to facilitate seamless billing processes. Accurately review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality at all times. Assist with medical coding using
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes, and ensure precise documentation review for billing accuracy. Manage front desk duties including answering multi-line phone systems, providing excellent patient service, and maintaining a professional office environment. Support medical billing activities such as claims submission, follow-up on unpaid claims, and collections related to medical accounts. Utilize EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix to document patient encounters, update care plans, and manage health information efficiently. Take blood pressure and with patient procedures. Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of medical administrative support and office management. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is highly preferred. Knowledge of Medicare procedures, and HIPAA compliance standards. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing). Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as filing, documentation review, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling simultaneously. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office management tools like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous. Exceptional phone etiquette combined with excellent customer service skills to create positive patient interactions.
