Job Description

Patient Accounts Representative at Clay County Medical Center, full-time position working 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday. Responsible for managing private-pay patient accounts. This responsibility includes assisting patients and guarantors with payments, payment plans and financial assistance. Posts patient payments, generates and approves patient billing statements, communicates with outside collection agency. In addition, assists with other duties as assigned. These activities are completed following established policies and procedures, and in compliance with 501r, HIPAA, regulatory agencies and the organization's Code of Conduct. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Customer Service:
Supports and upholds the organization's philosophy of customer service. Exhibits a positive attitude with a professional and pleasant demeanor when communicating with all customers and providing information. Consistently uses diplomacy and respect both in person and when using the telephone, and performs effectively and professionally under stressful conditions. Ensures customer concerns are processed in compliance with organization's policies while maintaining the highest level of patient and employee rights, including confidentiality of patient information and personnel issues. Recommends organization and departmental improvements based on appropriate customer concerns.

Education/Experience:
HS diploma/GED required. Associates Degree or equivalent undergraduate hours preferred. One-year experience in healthcare financial services, healthcare registration services or related healthcare experience preferred. Keyboarding skill or typing skill of at least 30 wpm strongly desired. Excellent customer service skills. Level 2: Light Work Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree: or requires sitting most of the time but entails and/or pulling of arm or leg controls. Post offer physical, drug screen, background check required.
