Position Overview The Senior Director of Patient Financial Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for patient financial services teams across Kansas and Missouri. This executive-level role drives modernization of revenue cycle operations, strengthens financial sustainability, and leads enterprise-wide improvements in billing technologies, reimbursement workflows, and operational performance. This leader will partner closely with clinical, operational, financial, and technology teams to improve revenue outcomes while ensuring compliance, accountability, and exceptional service delivery. Hybrid; In office 3 days a week What You'll Lead Operational Leadership & Team Management Direct day-to-day operations of patient financial services teams Lead and mentor high-performing teams across multiple business units Remove operational barriers and drive performance improvement initiatives Foster a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and professional growth Serve as a key liaison with internal leadership, vendors, and government agencies Performance Optimization & Financial Strategy Establish and monitor enterprise KPIs and industry benchmarks Analyze operational and reimbursement trends to drive strategic decisions Develop corrective action plans to improve efficiency and financial outcomes Oversee accounts receivable follow-up, denial management, payment posting, refunds, and financial counseling operations Ensure strong budget stewardship and financial accountability Systems Innovation & Revenue Cycle Modernization Optimize billing systems and workflow technologies Identify automation opportunities and partner with IT and ESM teams on implementation Lead change management initiatives that improve scalability and operational efficiency Ensure data integrity and system performance across platforms Compliance & Revenue Integrity Maintain and audit policies and procedures across all business office functions Monitor regulatory and payor changes impacting reimbursement Evaluate payor performance against contractual expectations Ensure ethical standards, confidentiality, and compliance are consistently upheld Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred Licensure/Certification Valid driver's license and auto insurance required Experience 7+ years of management experience leading teams 10+ years leading revenue cycle operations within a hospital, healthcare system, or complex behavioral health organization What Makes You Successful We are looking for a leader who brings: Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills Expertise in medical billing terminology and reimbursement methodologies Knowledge of government and commercial payors Advanced experience with EMRs, billing systems, and Microsoft Office Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across departments A commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and ethical leadership Leadership Expectations At KVC, leaders are expected to: Build trust through authenticity and compassion Collaborate across departments to improve outcomes Lead with urgency, innovation, and accountability Use data-driven decision-making to proactively solve challenges Support and strengthen children, families, communities, and fellow team members Why Join KVC Health Systems Careers Mission-driven organization making a meaningful impact Executive leadership opportunity with system-wide influence Collaborative and innovative culture Opportunity to modernize and shape revenue cycle strategy Strong organizational values centered around people and purpose Work Wellbeing Score of 83 If you are a strategic healthcare finance leader ready to drive operational excellence and innovation in behavioral healthcare, we encourage you to apply today.
