Insurance Payment Coordinator Department:
Clinic Job Function:
Responsible for daily payment posting and reconciliation to ensure accurate insurance payments.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma. Minimum of five years finance related experience
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Enters charges for electronic and paper claims to be sent to third-party payors Posts Insurance and patient payments daily both electronically and check form Posts, corrects and applies write offs on patient accounts Resolves misdirected payment issues Performs follow up with insurance companies ensuring claims are paid Prepares financial reports and findings via practice analytics Reviews third party contracts and monitors contract revenues Maintains strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Participates in professional development efforts to ensure currency in health care practices and trends.
Knowledge of:
Patient policies and practices of the clinic Computer programs and applications Electronic Health Records. Customer service concepts.
Skilled in:
Gathering, interpreting and reporting insurance information Computation, typing and filing. Time management and organization Ability to: Make mathematical computations Work effectively with patients, coworkers and the public. Work in a team setting Other duties as assigned.
