Patient Access Specialist On‑Site | Mount Sterling, KY (40353) Full‑Time | Contract to hire (6 Months) Entry Level | Healthcare Customer Service About the Role We are hiring a Patient Access Specialist to support a fast‑paced healthcare operations team. This role focuses on administrative, clerical, and customer support related to patient records, billing documentation, and internal requests. This is a strong entry‑level opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience in healthcare administration, medical records, and hospital support services . What You'll Be Doing Process requests for medical records, EOBs, UB‑92 forms, and itemized statements Sort, track, and distribute incoming mail and documentation Support claims processing and billing documentation workflows Manage work queues and complete assigned tasks in internal systems Perform general office duties (filing, scanning, indexing, data entry) Handle documentation requests from internal and external teams Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all tasks What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous administrative, office, or customer service experience Familiarity with medical terminology Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage workload Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Preferred (Nice to Have) Experience in healthcare or patient access Exposure to EPIC or similar systems Data entry or 10‑key experience Customer service experience in a medical setting Schedule & Work Environment 100% on‑site in Mount Sterling, KY Shift options may include: Early shift: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM Day shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Office/healthcare setting with a team‑based environment Fast‑paced workflow with high daily volume Additional Requirements Background check required Drug screening required Pre‑employment health screenings and immunizations may be required Why This Role Great entry point into healthcare and hospital operations Hands‑on exposure to medical records and billing processes Opportunity to build transferable administrative and customer service skills Structured environment with room to grow and gain experience Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mount Sterling, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.70 - $19.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
