Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION
This position will provide leadership to the clerical staff in the clinic so that the charge process is effective and efficient. Individual will be responsible for the scheduling, registering, pre-registering, obtaining authorizations/pre-certs, and coordinating charge entry processing for the physician practice. This position will be responsible for answering inquiries from patients and insurance companies in a professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational and/or
Professional Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous Experience:
Minimum of three year experience in patient accounting environment. At least two years prior experience with professional fee billing for a physician's office or hospital setting. Ability to operate a computer and various computer software programs.
Other Special Training/Skills:
Possess excellent communication skills, oral and written. Possess a preference for dealing with people who are ill and need help. Possess the tack to deal effectively with patients, doctors, other employees and insurance companies. Possess a preference for financial activities to understand and work with management and financial concepts in a medical office setting. Possess the sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted business standards.
