In this energetic role you will work evenings and every other weekend , you'll serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking detox services, ensuring a smooth and supportive admission process. Your dedication will help create a welcoming environment that fosters trust and encourages positive outcomes for those in need of specialized care. Responsibilities Greet and assist patients, families, and referral sources with professionalism and empathy during the intake process Collect, verify, and document patient information accurately using medical terminology and administrative protocols Coordinate with medical staff to ensure all necessary documentation and assessments are completed prior to admission Maintain organized records of patient admissions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations Support the scheduling of assessments and follow-up appointments to streamline patient flow Provide exceptional medical administrative support by managing phone inquiries, updating patient files, and handling correspondence Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient communication and seamless patient transitions into detox programs Skills Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably within mental health, addiction treatment, or dental offices Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills to interact empathetically with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Patient Intake & Assessment:
Conduct empathetic, trauma-informed pre-screenings and level-of-care assessments (e.g., ASAM , BSAS criteria) to determine the appropriate type of care.
Insurance Verification:
Collaborate with utilization review teams to verify benefits, secure pre-authorizations, and ensure all financial paperwork is handled correctly
Logistics & Onboarding:
Manage scheduling, coordinate safe transportation to the facility, and ensure rooms and intake paperwork are fully prepared.
Medical Coordination:
Facilitate basic onboarding tasks with nursing teams, such as reviewing medical histories, screening for withdrawal risks, and obtaining initial urine samples
Compliance & Ethics:
Ensure strict adherence to federal and state confidentiality laws (e.g., HIPAA), as well as Joint Commission or state licensing standards.
