We will provide a personal level of healthcare and addiction treatment that addresses the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of everyone we touch. SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs. The Front Office Specialist performs clerical and reception functions for the Health Center and coordinates with other departments as required.
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm with a rotating day of 10:00am-6:00pm. Initiates connection to identify clinician for appointment. Monitors wait times for clinician contact; provides input on workflow timeliness to care. Answer telephone lines and check messages. Check-in and Check-out patients accurately and timely. Open Batch and Enter Transactions, Collect Co-pays. Check and Run Insurances and Change PCP. Verify Demographic Information at Check-in (Phone, Address, PCP). Understanding of alerts -how to read, enter, and remove. Knowledge of sliding Fee, waiver form, release of records, and other forms. Adding Insurance Cards and Picture to Patient Chart. Responsible for informing and registering patients for patient portal. Obtain all appropriate signatures for patient forms.
Experience and Skills:
Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year experience in community behavioral health environment. Knowledge of substance abuse services. Ability to multitask in a high-paced environment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to remain calm, focused, and compassionate when working with clients. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other professionals and maintain appropriate boundaries. Sensitivity to diversity issues and a commitment to cultural competency. Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese) preferred. $17-$18.50/
