Job Description

DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Cardiovascular Office Coordinator functions under the direct supervision of the Cardiovascular Department Director. He/she is responsible to coordinate all aspects of in-patient and out-patient cardiology diagnostic testing requests, received from any location, by the development of a seamless processes to accommodate and inform all customers of expectations of testing completion. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and anticipate scheduling patterns to accommodate patients and expedite services. May assist Manager by providing direction and oversite to the Cardiovascular Center Staff when needed. Consistently exhibits leadership skills that enhance and promote customer service and team like atmosphere , who triages requests and streamlines all members of the health care team in the delivery of exceptional care. Coordinates all administrative office functions which include, but is not limited to, receiving and directing phone calls and visitors, troubleshooting scheduling problems, generating necessary reports, comprehension of all computer systems and acts as a resource in the department for troubleshooting and accessing information, as well as ensuring patient billing with appropriate diagnosis, verification of demographic and insurance information with complete registration in Meditech system.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a busy physician office/clinical setting Experience in handling multiple telephone lines required Excellent clerical/organizational skills required Medical Assistant skills preferred Computer keyboard skills required Data Entry Billing experience preferred Knowledge of Meditech Terminology strongly preferred Supervisory Experience preferred
Education and Training:
High School diploma Computer training preferred
License, Certification & Registration:
Must be C.P.R certified
Other Requirements:
Excellent Interpersonal skills with proven ability and experience dealing with agitated/dissatisfied patients, family and physicians. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast paced environment Ability to handle mulitple tasks at once Demonstrated competency in handling confidential and sensitive information required Excellent Telephone skills required Sensitive to diverse cultures and cultural differences Demonstrated ability to read and follow written/verbal direction Felixible hours required to cover for vacations and earned time absences Self motivates and ability to be independent and flexible within a team framework Excellent oral and written communication skills Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner Must have ability to operate: CIS (Cardiology Information System) and HIS (Hospital Information System, keyboard, photocopy machine, printers. telephone communication system, FAX machine, beeper communication (internal and external), treadmill and monitor Must have working knowledge of clinical emergency equipment, such as oxygen tanks and suction apparatus.
