Medical Practice Representative

Medical Secretary Location:

Bel Air MD Shift:

M-F 8am- 5:30pm

Description:

A successful candidate musthave excellent personal skills and be comfortable working with patients in a clinical environment. Greeting patients in a warm and friendly manner Answering incoming patient calls, making appointment reminders and follow-up calls Supporting 3-4 Physicians schedules and patient volumes Will be utilizing Epic software to schedule patients. Obtain Pre-authorization for insurance before appointments. Verification of insurance daily Must be familiar with medical terminology. Sensitivity to confidential matters is required. Similar positions include patient intake clerk and patient admissions clerk. Typical duties of a patient registration clerk Interviewing incoming patients prior to admission to gather demographic, insurance, and emergency information. Ensuring completion of paperwork, sign-in and security procedures. Explaining facility policies, preparing and distributing patient identification bands, and arranging for transportation to assigned rooms. Additional duties may include collecting copayments, answering phones, assisting family members, and conducting research for prior medical records and account folders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

1-3 years of medical front desk experience (preferred) Must be computer proficient. Outstanding customer service Experience Level Expert Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bel Air, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
