Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate, Maryland-licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will work closely with a licensed occupational therapist to deliver high-quality patient care in a pediatric outpatient clinic. Your expertise will help patients regain independence, cope with delayed skills, and improve their quality of life through targeted therapeutic interventions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children and their families. Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients in outpatient setting. Support patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility exercises to promote independence. Work with children's problem areas of fine motor skills, coordination skills, motor planning, self-regulation, executive function skills, primitive reflex integration, sensory processing skills, and other related issues. Contribute to the development and modification of care plans based on patient progress and therapist guidance. Help evaluate patient needs by observing functional abilities and documenting responses to therapy interventions. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment use to ensure optimal recovery. Maintain accurate documentation of patient sessions, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams as needed to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Provide services within the scope of his/her license. Counsel and advise patients/clients, their families, and/or team members, as needed, regarding problems arising from patients' illnesses or injury. Make appropriate referrals for required services in accordance with the respective physician's plan of care. Experience Prior experience working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in pediatric population is highly preferred. Experience assisting with ADLs and supporting patients in acute care environments is desirable. Knowledge of occupational health practices and outpatient therapy procedures will support your success in this role. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams ensures seamless patient care delivery across diverse healthcare environments. $34.01 - $40.96 per hour
