Monday-Friday (9-5) | No evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts At Rivas Medical Weight Loss , we're passionate about helping people achieve lasting health and wellness through personalized medical weight loss programs. Our comprehensive approach combines provider-guided care, GLP-1 medications when appropriate, lifestyle coaching, and compassionate support to help patients transform their lives. We're looking for a friendly, organized, and service-oriented Patient Care Specialist to join our growing team. What You'll Do As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming and seamless patient experience.
Responsibilities include:
Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, warmth, and empathy. Respond to patient calls and text messages promptly. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments across multiple clinic locations. Assist prospective and existing patients by answering questions about services, pricing, and treatment options. Triage patient concerns and route calls to the appropriate team member or clinic. Escalate urgent or sensitive patient issues when appropriate. Update appointment information accurately in the EMR and scheduling system. Follow up on voicemails in a timely manner. Assist with insurance benefit verification and coverage checks through Novocare, Lilly Direct, GoodRx, and other available programs. Facilitate insurance prior authorization submissions and approval follow-up. Support clinic operations and assist with additional administrative tasks as needed. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in medical reception, patient services, customer service, or healthcare administration preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy Comfortable using EMR systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate while assisting patients Knowledge of medical weight loss services, GLP-1 medications, or insurance prior authorizations is a plus Why Join Rivas Medical Weight Loss? Physical Requirements:
The Patient Care Specialist must be able to perform the physical demands of a sedentary office environment, including prolonged sitting and computer use, with occasional standing and walking to complete tasks. The role requires sufficient hearing and clear communication in person and over the phone, as well as visual acuity to read documents, view computer screens, and manage electronic records. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are necessary for tasks such as typing, data entry, and handling office equipment. The position may occasionally involve lifting or moving up to 15 pounds, such as files or office supplies, and requires the ability to work in a standard office environment with minimal physical risk.
