Job Description

Under minimal supervision, executes physician orders for the insertion of PICC lines for patients within Henry Ford Health System. The PICC Nurse will practice within established standards demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills in the management of Intravenous Therapy, IV medication, and the management of central lines.
ABILITIES/ SKILLS
1. Obtain and maintain PICC line insertion competencies. 2. Ability to manage patient receiving IV therapy - assessment, consults and referrals as necessary, wound and dressing care, administration of medications. 3. Skillful care, quality work in a timely fashion. 4. Participation in quality and process improvement efforts. 5. Participation in appropriate committees. 6. Consistent demonstration of Service Excellence behaviors
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within 3 years of hire Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of hire Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Professional Certifications to support a culture of nursing excellence
