Job Description

Southwest Eye Care is hiring for a part-time (24 hours/week) Patient Service Specialist for our Watertown, MN location! This position would work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. What you'll be doing Responsible for providing patient care and outstanding customer service. Performs front desk duties included but not limited to answering phones, checking patients in and out for appointments, filing, data entry, cleaning. Pay for this position starts at: $18.00-19.00/hour. A day in your life might include… Answer phones and direct them to the appropriate doctors or staff members. Schedule and/or cancel appointments. Prepare charts for the following days by compiling appropriate electronic forms in charts, confirm patient appointments, and verifying insurance benefits. Greet patients to check in and out for appointment. Review paperwork with patients and take copies of insurance cards. Enter demographic and insurance information in software. Collect co-pays, co-insurances, contact lens fitting fees, and any other payments due at the time of service. Post charges and payments in system. Scan and upload other paperwork as needed. Ensure waiting area and patient areas neat and tidy. Empty trash, vacuum, and wipe down surfaces to ensure a clean office. Order contacts lenses. Triage. Travel to other offices as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
You meet these requirements:
One year Customer/Patient Service Experience Required (optometry/ophthalmology experience a plus). Patient Scheduling a plus. High School Diploma or equivalent. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, multi-task and proceed with objectives without supervision. Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems. Basic bookkeeping skills. Detail-oriented. What you'll bring to the team Interpersonal communication skills.
