Job Description

Medical Office Billing Southern Eye Center is seeking an Experienced Medical Biller, but will train the right individual. The duties of this position may include: Timely charge entry and follow up on payer denials. Posting of remittances from various insurance carriers. Report any denied claims or payment irregularities to the Billing Manager immediately, upon discovery. Speak directly with patients concerning their bills. Verify insurance being active, applicable deductible, co-insurance, etc. Respond quickly and effectively to inquiries focusing on fully resolving payment issues. Performs all other duties as assigned in a professional, courteous and timely manner.
Required/desired skill sets:
Ability to utilize a PC, practice management software, calculator, multi-line telephone, copier/scanner, and other typical office equipment. Knowledge of general medical office processes and medical office billing in general. Knowledge of accounts receivable process and methods to work claims to ensure that payment is received. Strong Medicare and Medicaid knowledge preferred. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing. Must have excellent phone skills. Must be able to think independently and work well within a team environment. Must be able to complete tasks with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy. Must be detail oriented. Full time, Monday through Friday. No evenings, weekends, or holidays! High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. At Southern Eye Center we offer our staff:
