Examples of Duties Duties included but are not limited to: Provide information to individuals and families who are recipients of local health services, including test results, interviews, and appointments. Escort patients to their destination and prepare patients for examinations by provider. Obtain personal and medical history from the patient, including information on return visits for health history and medication compliance. Operate specific medical equipment relevant to job functions, ensuring safe and effective usage. Request, review, document in, and return patient medical records as necessary. Assemble patient charts with the appropriate forms needed for visits. Assist with maintaining supply orders and inventory for the clinical areas. Ensure exams rooms are clean and clutter free. Prepare patient for examination by provider by obtaining height, weight, and vital signs, including hearing and vision. Assist providers and nurses with standard nursing assignments and laboratory functions Employee is subject to be called upon anytime to help the agency respond to a public health emergency which may include, but is not limited to, outbreak investigations, staffing mass dispensing or immunization clinics, providing disaster relief, or other incidents (man-made or natural and intentional or non-intentional) as they arise, or any public health response requested by the Health Director. Minimum Qualifications High school or General Educational Development diploma, completion of a one-year formal training course in medical office assisting at a community college or technical institute; or High school or General Educational Development diploma and a combination of one year of clerical and health/dental related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
