Carolina BioOncology Institute/ Huntersville, NC Position Summary We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and highly organized Patient Services Representative to join our growing healthcare team. The Patient Services Representative serves as a primary point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience from check-in through follow-up. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, personable, adaptable, and committed to delivering outstanding patient care and administrative support while always maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. As our organization continues to grow, this individual must be comfortable navigating frequent operational changes, evolving processes, and shifting priorities in a dynamic office environment. Key Responsibilities Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations Collect co-pays, balances, and required patient documentation Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff Assist patients with forms, paperwork, and general office questions Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Manage front desk workflow and maintain a clean, organized reception area Process incoming faxes, mail, and patient correspondence Adapt quickly to new procedures, technologies, and office workflows as the practice continues to expand Support office operations and administrative projects as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree or healthcare-related certification preferred Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service environment preferred Experience with EMR systems and medical scheduling software preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working in a rapidly evolving and growing office setting Ability to adapt positively to change and shifting priorities Professional appearance and demeanor Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus Preferred Skills & Attributes Compassionate and patient-focused approach Strong problem-solving abilities Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment Ability to remain calm under pressure Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude Reliable attendance and punctuality Strong verbal and written communication skills
Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
