GENERAL SUMMARY
Provides front-line support for patient scheduling, registration, reception, and routine office coordination. Performs standardized tasks that support access to care, including appointment scheduling, data entry, and basic patient communication.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. Schedules and confirms patient appointments using established procedures and scheduling guidelines. Registers patients and collects demographic, insurance, and financial information with accuracy and confidentiality. Responds to inbound and outbound phone calls, addressing routine questions and escalating issues as needed. Greets patients and visitors, provides basic directions, and supports patient access operations by covering different locations or functions as assigned. Enters, scans, files, and maintains patient documentation in electronic systems. Reviews basic appointment or order information and refers discrepancies for follow-up. Supports daily work queues and routine clerical tasks according to defined workflows. Follows privacy, safety, and compliance requirements in all patient interactions. Learns departmental workflows, policies, and systems through training, observation, and feedback. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous customer service, clerical, or administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting preferred. Meets legal age requirement (19 years of age) to witness patient consents.
