This position is responsible for providing excellent patient service while efficiently managing front-office administrative duties. Work Schedule
Monday-Thursday:
7:30 AM - 4:30 PMFriday:
7:30 AM - 12:00 PMTotal:
40 hours per week Essential Responsibilities- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a courteous and timely manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Check patients in and out and maintain accurate patient information.
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
- Collect copayments, balances, and other applicable payments.
- Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, paperwork, and office procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare and organize paperwork, forms, and medical records.
- Communicate messages and information between patients and clinical staff.
- Process referrals, authorizations, and other administrative paperwork as needed.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming reception area.
- Assist with medical office administrative tasks as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with providers and other staff members to ensure smooth daily office operations. Qualifications
- Previous medical office or healthcare reception experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional, friendly, and compassionate demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy office environment.
- Comfortable using computers, electronic medical records, scheduling systems, and basic office equipment.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a small team. Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Experience verifying insurance and collecting patient payments.
- Bilingual skills are a plus, if applicable. Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the office as needed.
- Ability to use a computer and telephone for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move office supplies and materials.
