Job Description:
Position Summary - Mainly covering Dover and Porstmouth offices, Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm Acts as a representative in all areas of clerical support. Assumes responsibility for all facets of front desk operations including greeting and registering patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, entering demographics and processing referrals. Retrieving and updating medical records, collecting fees and performing general clerical and other duties as assigned in accordance with TJC and government standards, as well as policies and procedures of Elliot Health System. Key Responsibilities Greets patients and visitors to the department, performs check-in and notifies appropriate personnel of arrival. Provides excellent customer service and serves as a positive representative of EHS in all interactions. Receives incoming telephone calls, directs inquiries as appropriate and takes messages. Performs required insurance verification activity when appropriate. Obtains insurance information through department processes in order to ensure that proper authorization requirements will be fulfilled. Schedules appointments for therapy evaluations and visits based on established guidelines. Completes the registration process, explains applicable policies to patient and assists patients with paperwork. Maintains workload at the established productivity standard for assigned area. Interacts with patients regarding complaints for effective and immediate response and
Education/Experience/Licensure Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Previous experience in healthcare setting
Software/Hardware:
