In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process prior to their appointments. Your energetic approach and excellent customer service skills will help create a positive experience for patients while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and verify their personal and insurance information with enthusiasm and professionalism Collect accurate demographic data, insurance details, and relevant medical history prior to appointments Ensure all patient information complies with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Verify insurance coverage, including managed care plans, and obtain prior authorization when necessary Enter patient data into Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems efficiently using Microsoft Office tools as needed Assist with insurance verification processes, including checking coverage for CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes such as ICD-9 and ICD-10, and other medical billing information Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all pre-registration requirements are completed accurately before patient visits Skills Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies Proficiency in medical coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding practices Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) management systems Familiarity with health insurance policies, managed care processes, and insurance prior authorization procedures Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically Ability to navigate Microsoft Office applications efficiently for documentation purposes Understanding of medical office workflows, medical billing, insurance verification, and health insurance policy details Join us in delivering exceptional patient experiences by ensuring seamless pre-registration processes!
