Job Description
Answer phones and greet patients in a professional and courteous manner. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments. Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and medical information in the EMR system. Verify insurance eligibility, collect co-pays, and assist with billing-related inquiries. Process referrals, prior authorizations, pre-certifications, and medical records requests. Maintain provider schedules and support daily office operations. Balance daily cash collections according to office procedures. Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform other administrative duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous medical office, healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience preferred. Knowledge of medical scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations preferred. Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
