Job Summary:
The Patient Access Clerk is responsible for all clerical, communications, and data processing activities pertaining to the admitting and registering of inpatients and outpatients to the facility. The Patient Access Clerk is responsible for activities pertaining to the proper charging, billing and receiving, statistical recording, financial transactions, records maintenance/inquiry of all patients. They must have a positive attitude towards all patients, visitors, and fellow staff in all areas which are consistent with our mission, goals, policies, and procedures. They must maintain personal growth and development to keep skills in line with job requirements and assist fellow employees in the department with the task of keeping their skills in line as well. Must be comfortable addressing conflict, dealing with strong personalities and working in a fast-paced environment.REPORTS TO

High schoolDiploma or Equivalent Required:
Clerical or secretarial experience, preferably in a hospital or health related environment and possess typing skills of 40 wpm. Pleasant personality with good interpersonal skills and positive attitude Appropriate written and verbal communication skills, must possess positive customer service skills and professionally manage conflict. Strong team player and ability to work independently Strong critical thinking skills and ability to problem solvePreferred:
6 months of medical clerical highly preferred and will be prioritized when interviewing A knowledge of medical terminology- The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants.
