Complete Orthopedic Services Inc. is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our growing team in East Meadow, NY and Flushing, NY locations, one position available in each location. In this role, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, playing a vital part in delivering a seamless and compassionate experience from day one. Responsibilities:
Manage the patient intake process, including collecting demographic, insurance, and medical history information Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations for orthopedic services and equipment Coordinate with clinical staff, physicians, and referral sources to ensure smooth patient onboarding Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EMR/practice management system Respond to patient and referral inquiries via phone, fax, and email in a timely manner Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies throughout the intake process Track and follow up on pending referrals, authorizations, and documentation requests
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in a medical office, orthopedic, or healthcare intake role preferred Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorization, and medical billing processes Strong knowledge of orthopedic terminology, DME, or related healthcare services is a plus Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Compassionate, patient-focused demeanor with strong attention to detail High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration preferred
