Job Description

Crouse's Patient Access Department promotes patient advocacy and meeting the needs of our patients, visitors, volunteers, and staff in an efficient, timely and courteous manner. In addition, Patient Access strives for excellence in quality and providing an accurate method of patient registration for various points of service throughout Crouse Hospital. The Patient Access team is hiring a Patient Access Representative .
Schedule:
Full Time, Evening Shift, 3:00pm-11:30pm. This position will include rotating weekends, holidays, and other shifts assigned.Pay Range:
$19.89-31.85/hour based on verified experiencePatient Access Representative Position Responsibilities:
Effectively interviews patients and/or family members and accurately enters patient demographic and insurance information into hospital financial system. Routinely performs eligibility and insurance verification of all insurance payors and ensures all pre-certification and authorization requirements are completed with the highest level of accuracy. Proficiently determines the need for patient financial counseling and directs patient to appropriate department for assistance in a courteous manner. Professionally informs patient of estimated self-pay amounts and collects co-pays/deductibles/deposits in an organized and timely manner. Routinely reviews HIPAA regulations to maintain competency and ensure compliance at all times. Provides education to patients and family members on the meaning of all forms required prior to obtaining hospital treatment to ensure full completion and verifies patient understanding. Proficiently manages and coordinates incoming requests for patient scheduling, as directed by department leadership.Patient Access Representative Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 6 months- 1 year of fast paced office experience. Must have the ability to prioritize and multitask while being attentive to detail with strong administrative skills. Must have exceptional customer service and time management skills, be compassionate and patient. Must pass a Patient Access test with a score of 75% or higher, administered byHuman Resources Benefits Overview:
