Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking a compassionate, organized, and service-oriented Patient Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be an important point of contact for our patients, helping coordinate appointments, answer questions, and ensure each patient receives a welcoming and supportive experience throughout their care. What You'll Do Answer incoming calls and respond to patient questions with professionalism, empathy, and accuracy. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, procedures, and follow-up care. Confirm and update patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation. Provide patients with clear information regarding appointments, procedures, and next steps. Support communication between patients, providers, referring offices, and clinic teams. Assist with prescription refill requests, referrals, medical records, and other patient-care needs. Accurately document calls, messages, and patient information in the electronic medical record. Monitor open tasks and follow up promptly to help prevent delays in patient care. Resolve routine patient concerns and appropriately escalate clinical or complex matters. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational standards. Collaborate with team members to provide a seamless, compassionate, and efficient patient experience. Perform additional duties as assigned to support patients and clinic operations. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in healthcare, a medical office, call center, patient services, or customer service preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate calmly and compassionately. Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional judgment and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately. Comfortable using computers and learning new systems. Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office preferred.
