Job Description
Position Summary The Intake Coordinator plays a critical role in welcoming new patients and supporting their transition into the program. This position is responsible for verifying benefits, completing intake procedures, coordinating with clinical staff, and providing hands-on support during the admission process. The Intake Coordinator may also assist as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) when needed. Key Responsibilities Conduct insurance verification of benefits at the initial, mid-way, and end stages of treatment Greet patients upon arrival and guide them through the intake process Review and obtain patient consents and required documentation Provide patients with an overview and explanation of the program Assist patients with basic needs, including obtaining food upon arrival Perform urine drug screens (UDS) and breathalyzer testing in accordance with policy Assist nursing staff with intake assessments and coordinate handoff information Communicate and hand off intake-related information to the BHT Lead On Wednesdays, act as a BHT for part of the shift when staffing is doubled Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all policies Perform other duties as assigned Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Flexibility to assist in dual roles as needed Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility Ability to perform UDS and breathalyzer testing Must be able to manage a fast-paced and emotionally sensitive environment
