New Beginnings Integrated Healthcare is a premier, client-centered provider dedicated to strengthening mental resilience and physical wellness through tailored, evidence-based guidance. We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to serve as the primary point of contact for our patients at our Mahanoy location.

In this role, you will balance essential administrative tasks with vital patient support functions in a fast-paced integrated healthcare environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Greet patients, verify identity (Name, DOB, Photo ID), and facilitate a welcoming front-office environment. Manage a multi-line phone system, directing calls to appropriate clinical or billing teams. Facilitate scheduling and calendar management for multiple providers to ensure optimal clinic flow. Maintain patient confidentiality and strict adherence to HIPAA and PHI privacy regulations. Utilize EHR platforms for demographic updates, documentation logging, and arrival notifications. Perform insurance verification and upload necessary documents into the EHR system. Collect patient payments (copays, balances) at check-in and manage end-of-day payment logs. Monitor accounts for high balances and coordinate with the billing department. Assist with the coordination of hospital discharges and maintain clinical supply inventories. Handle patient crises or walk-ins with empathy, utilizing de-escalation skills as needed. Manage the Release of Information (ROI) process securely. Provide occasional phlebotomy support (blood draws and specimen collection), if certified.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
2 or more years of experience in a healthcare front desk role (medical receptionist experience preferred). Experience in behavioral health or integrated primary care is highly valued. High-level competency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and EHR platforms (Tebra preferred). Exceptional phone etiquette, professional communication, and crisis de-escalation skills. Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are mandatory for occasional regional coverage. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred. Phlebotomy certification and experience are highly desired but not required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 lbs. Requires visual focus on computer monitors in a busy environment. Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens during phlebotomy tasks (adherence to OSHA safety protocols is mandatory).
Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
