Job Description

To register patients for Emergency Services and Outpatient Departments. To call patients and retrieve information for pre-registration for out-patient services including insurance eligibility, demographics and patient financial responsibility. To gather and prepare materials necessary to admit Inpatients and Surgical Day Care Patients. To assign rooms in accordance with hospital regulations and infection control policies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Must be a high school graduate. Additional business and medical training preferred. Must be efficient with data entry equipment. Must have the ability to apply appropriate rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Knowledge of computers a necessity. Must have a good working knowledge of general office techniques and secretarial work as acquired through a combination of training and experience. Must possess the ability to prioritize activities, organize work and problem solve. Must be able to contribute positively to the teamwork of the department. Ability to express and receive detailed information through oral or written communication. Must be available all shifts, weekends and holidays.
