Spine Care Center Location:
UPMC Spine Care Center Primary Practice Locations (required to work at both): 2025 Technology Parkway, Suite 100, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 4310 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109 Travel to other UPMC Orthopedic Service Line locations may be required as needed.

Responsibilities:
a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Provide a warm, welcoming experience for all patients and visitors Guide patients through self-arrival technology or complete check-in at the front desk based on patient preference Collect copayments and other applicable patient payments at the point of service Confirm and update patient registration and demographic information during check-in and checkout Schedule follow-up appointments within the practice and coordinate ancillary services as needed Answer and appropriately triage incoming phone calls from patients, therapy facilities, and referring provider offices Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system by providing clear instructions and ensuring continuity of care Follow up on unresolved patient questions or concerns to promote a positive patient experience Utilize service recovery principles to address and resolve patient concerns in alignment with the UPMC Experience Register patients in the Biometrics (fingerprint recognition) program and educate them on program benefits Promote and support enrollment in the MyUPMC patient portal Educate patients regarding financial responsibilities and connect them with financial advocacy resources as appropriate Verify insurance coverage and benefits through online verification systems and telephone inquiries Obtain required patient signatures for consent to treatment and financial responsibility in compliance with HIPAA regulations Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and other patient care support activities Complete patient preregistration and insurance verification processes Perform administrative duties including scanning medical records, faxing documents, and maintaining accurate patient records Remain knowledgeable about the MyUPMC Patient Portal and assist patients in accessing health information and care services through the platform Support clinic operations and contribute to an efficient, patient-centered workflow throughout the day. Completion of high school graduate or equivalent is required. Experience with personal computer-based applications, other various office equipment and proficient typing skills are preferred. Two years of experience in a medical / billing / fiscal or customer service function is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems is preferred.
