Full job description Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania has an exciting brand new position that has been created in the newly formed call center of our practice. Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania is a growing eye practice located in the Wyomissing area and has an additional four offices in Lebanon, Pottstown, Pottsville, and Blandon. Due to the growth of the company, a practice call center has been created and is actively recruiting for a Patient Service associate in our newly renovated call center. This important role will be where the patient interactions begin. The Patient Service Associate must have the following qualities; vibrant, smart, multitasker sought, with background in phone service in a doctor's office making appointments, transferring calls, triage, and servicing patients Much of our patient care and business is conducted over the phone and in most cases, we are the first means of contact, and first impression. This is a front-line, customer-service oriented position, and you should be capable of maintaining a professional and positive attitude; while promoting a positive customer / patient experience. Responsibilities Answers all calls and routes calls to appropriate department and/or medical secretary. Schedules patient appointments. Registers new patients. Maintains HIPAA compliance at all times. Assist with special projects assigned. Assist Front Desk with calls and scheduling. Process referrals from other clinics. Ability to answer 50+ calls a day - must be "fast on your feet" Ability to manage "call drops", put into place process for eliminating/minimizing them. Accountable for outstanding customer service. Team player Great attendance, reliability & punctuality, on time every day. Great keyboard skills/typing Qualifications High School Graduate At least two years' experience in a medical office servicing patients on the telephone Knowledge of insurances varieties a plus Current application used is Nextech . Must enjoy working in a high pressure, busy phone environment Must be detail oriented , service focused , have a pleasant speaking voice , and possess skills in proper telephone etiquette. Demonstrate excellent human relations in verbal, interpersonal and written skills with the ability to work cooperatively within a diverse team environment. Ability to prioritize , follow established procedures and maintain a calm professional demeanor during busy periods and particularly in the event of an emergency. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high volume call center environment. Ability to work independently with attention to detail yet uses good judgment in seeking advice when necessary. Effective multi-tasking skills. Bi Lingual (English and Spanish) a plus. Requirements Must be able to cross train at the Front Desk in Wyomissing (hours during training will vary) Must be able to work full time at least 37.5hrs/wk Must be able to wear uniform/scrubs
