Job Description

Titusville Area Hospital (TAH) is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Registrar to join our Patient Access team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, helping ensure a seamless registration and admission process while providing exceptional service and support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Register patients accurately by verifying demographic, insurance, and guarantor information Estimate and communicate patient financial responsibility; collect copays and other patient liabilities Maintain and update patient records while preventing duplicate medical records Educate patients regarding Advanced Directives, Patient Bill of Rights, financial obligations, and general hospital information Work collaboratively with Pre-Service Specialists, Financial Counselors, providers, and departments to coordinate services and reduce wait times Follow up on authorizations, unresolved accounts, and required documentation Provide excellent customer service in face-to-face and phone interactions with patients, families, and healthcare staff Complete data tracking spreadsheets and respond to quality monitors as required Assist with training new staff and support department coverage as needed Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with organizational, state, and federal standards and regulations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Computer proficiency with strong typing/data entry skills (30 wpm minimum) Previous healthcare registration or medical office experience preferred Completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred Knowledge of insurance benefits, managed care, Medicaid/Medicare regulations preferred Skills & Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment Ability to use sound judgment and maintain professionalism Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively Knowledge of office equipment (copier, scanner, fax, etc.) Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily indoor office/hospital setting Frequent sitting and keyboarding Occasional lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs and occasional bending, stooping, or reaching
Pay:
From $15.64 per hour Shift availability: Day Shift (Preferred) Night Shift (Preferred) Overnight Shift (Preferred)
