Job Description

Touchstone Medical Imaging, UPMC and Lumexa Imaging are partnering to provide outpatient diagnostic imaging services to a convenient location near you! Touchstone Medical Imaging a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services in the United States. Touchstone owns and operates diagnostic imaging facilities across the US offering a wide range of imaging services in a comfortable, service-oriented outpatient environment. Our team is looking for the next addition to our family! This position could potentially work 8 to 10 hours per week and possibly more in the future. The Patient Service Representative is a key position in our imaging centers that greets patients and registers them for their procedures at the front desk. The role performs all clerical duties necessary to register and process patients so imaging studies can be performed and billed correctly.
Schedule:
Per diem shifts either week day or weekends, primarily daytime hours between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. This position may work approximately 8 to 10 hours per week and may increase over time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet patients entering the center and ensure a positive customer service experience Register patients by collecting/verifying patient demographic information, insurance data and referring physician information Achieve accurate and complete data entry of each patient Check insurance eligibility Calculate deductibles and coinsurances Collect and post co-pays, coinsurances and balances Daily data entry/computer work Keep accurate journal sheets of all payments posted Schedule appointments. Explain studies, procedures and preps to patients Answer the telephone, fax reports, request and release images Contact referring physician offices as needed Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations Print and/or scan documents into patient accounts Keep the work area stocked, orderly and clean Release images to patients when necessary Communicate information to radiologists, technologists, patients and referring physician office All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Customer service background and a history of providing positive customer outcomes Experience in an administrative healthcare position a plus Excellent computer skills, proficient keyboarding and data entry skills and ability to learn new systems Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy a plus Excellent communication skills High school diploma or equivalent Detail oriented and ability to multitask in a busy work environment Knowledge of office equipment (i.e. copy machine, scanner, fax machine, multiline telephone) Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, their family members and coworkers • Physical Demands of the Position - The position requires sitting for 75% of scheduled shift along with standing, walking, reaching and lifting. Use of a computer keyboard, computer mouse and telephone is required for 80-90% of scheduled shift. Working Conditions - The position is in an indoor office setting in close proximity to coworkers.
