Job Description
Methodist Health System seeks a Certified Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in our outpatient clinics. This hybrid role supports both clinical and front-desk operations, including rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with exams, injections, and labs, while also handling registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and check-in/check-out. Responsibilities Room patients, obtain vitals, and document medical histories in the EHRAssist providers with exams, procedures, and point-of-care testing Administer injections, perform basic lab duties, and manage specimen collection per protocol Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and collect co-pays Register patients, update demographics, and manage check-in/check-out workflows Answer phones, route messages, and support timely patient communication Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection control standards Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and medical record requests Required Skills Vital signs measurement Phlebotomy and specimen handling Vaccine and injection administration Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Medical billing and coding basics Insurance verification and patient registration Appointment scheduling systems Infection control and OSHA compliance Front desk and phone systems Medical terminology
