Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking experienced Patient Billing Customer Service Representatives to support a high-volume healthcare revenue cycle team. This role is responsible for assisting patients with billing inquiries, account resolution, payment arrangements, and account maintenance while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced call center environment. This is a fully remote opportunity supporting a large healthcare organization through a long-term project. Responsibilities Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls Review patient accounts and provide account status updates Research and respond to patient billing inquiries by phone and mail Assist patients with payment plans and payment processing Take payments securely over the phone Update patient demographic information and account details Process account adjustments when appropriate Work to resolve patient balances before accounts are referred to collections Refer patients to available financial assistance and charitable programs Complete all patient-related requests and correspondence accurately and timely Escalate concerns and process improvement opportunities to leadership Maintain productivity and quality standards in a high-volume environment Required Qualifications Strong healthcare call center customer service experience Experience with patient billing, insurance, revenue cycle, or medical office operations Understanding of medical terminology Knowledge of EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) Understanding of primary and secondary insurance payers Ability to navigate multiple systems while speaking with patients Strong communication and problem-solving skills Reliable high-speed internet connection (hotspots not permitted) Quiet, dedicated home workspace Equipment Requirements Company-issued laptop provided Additional equipment provided as needed Internet service must be through a traditional internet provider Mobile carrier internet services and hotspots are not supported • We will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO), Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers (ULAC), The San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO), and the California Fair Chance Act (CFCA). • As a job position within our Revenue Cycle division, a successful completion of a background check may be required as a condition of employment.
