OFFICE PURPOSE
To recruit, screen and admit applicants to the Nursing Facility and Rehabilitation Center to create an efficient, warm, and inviting atmosphere whereby potential residents and their legal representative are appropriately educated and informed of the admission process assisting in the transition of the resident into the facility. To promote the facility to the medical and general community by personal contact, media, presence at community events and attend promotions
WORKING HOURS
75 to 80 hours per pay period or as assigned by Supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Well-lighted, well-ventilated office. Works with facility personnel under varying conditions, sits, stands, walks generally short distances during the day. Subject to light to moderate lifting. Subject to frequent interruptions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Possess thorough knowledge of the Resident Care Policies, philosophy and a desire to serve the needs of the residents. Be courteous and tactful with people and handling emergencies. Remain calm and level headed in all types of situations and handle complaints in a calm and consistent manner. Cooperate with staff and outside agencies to form a first and last impression from this initial contact. Establish and maintain close working relationships with local Department of Social Services, representatives of the area community long term care and Social Workers from area hospitals. Must stay abreast of changes and requirements of third part payers as they affect residents ability to qualify for admission and continue stay at the facility. Assist families in the completion of the preliminary application for admission and conduct tours of the facility and explain services available to prospective residents and/or their families. Ascertain pertinent medical and social information regarding prospective residents and confer with the Director of Nursing, or designee to determine the facilitys ability to meet the various needs of the residents prior to admission. Be available to resident / families on an ongoing basis to answer questions regarding facility services and policies. Explain admission forms and requirements during the pre-admission conference and assure that signed statements of the conference and any necessary physician certifications are obtained when necessary. Provide emotional support to residents / families experiencing adjustment problems with admissions and refer more serious problems to the Social Services Director. Assist with special resident / family functions such as birthday parties, family night supper, National Nursing Home Week, etc., as required by the Activity Department, with Supervisor approval. Prepare report to the supervisor as requested. Notify the appropriate nurses station of admission and supply as much medical and social information as possible, prior to admission. May assist with answering phones, receptionist duties, and miscellaneous errands as needed. Assist families in completion of insurance forms relating to residents admission and completion of all documents including signatures on admission procedures. Obtain information for original face sheet and update information as needed. Organize, implement and follow-up on Family / Resident Surveys with families and provide report of such to the Director of Transitional Services. Provide marketing and public relations for the facility. Provide follow-up via telephone or meetings with families regarding concerns / grievances.
