Primary Function:
Able to multi-task while providing excellent customer service operating the front desk responsibilities for our outpatient office.
Job Responsibilities:
Open the office each day. Answer the telephone pleasantly. Route calls as needed. Greet patients with a smile and friendly manner as they arrive for their allergy shot/appointment. Check patients in using our EMR system
  • eClinicalWorks (eCW). Provide new patients with appropriate paperwork. Verify patient demographic and insurance information for new and established patients
  • with 100% accuracy rate. Explain financial and collection policies to new patients
  • provide written guidelines to each patient.
Ensure all patient paperwork is complete before patient is seen. Working knowledge of all managed care plans for benefits coverage, including HMO and PPO. Keep the patient waiting room area neat and clean throughout the day. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality. Assist with patient payment collections of co-pay at time of service. Appointment scheduling. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents. Attend monthly department staff meetings. Perform all other tasks and projects assigned by department manager.
Education / Certification

Licensure Requirements:
High school education or G.E.D. equivalent
  • required. Two years prior experience in a medical office
  • preferred. Certificates/licensure requirements
  • none.
Qualifications:
Detailed oriented. Previous experience in a medical office setting
  • 2 years preferred.
Communication skills including:
fluent in oral and written English
  • required.
Strong computer skills including the ability to send/receive messages, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use our Electronic Medical Records system eCW. Hard worker. Good with multitasking. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to follow through on assignments. Enthusiastic team player. Positive attitude. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn. Due to the sensitivity of our allergy patients, we cannot employ anyone who smells of strong odors including smoke, perfume, or cologne.
Uniform:
Black scrubs. The practice will annually reimburse for uniform items up to $120.
