THE CENTER FOR PEDIATRIC EXCELLENCE, PLLC JOB DESCRIPTION PEDIATRIC CLERICAL STAFF
MEMBER- We are hiring a Pediatric Clerical Staff Member (PCSM) to work full time for The Center for Pediatric Excellence, PLLC (CPE). This means to perform a wealth of medical office tasks and responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude with an outgoing spirit. The PCSM must have good leadership, management, communication, technical, and analytical skills for a diverse family oriented medical office practice. The PCSM will be the first contact with the family and will be expected to establish the tone of the families experience at CPE. Lastly, the PCSM must be grounded and believe GREAT and

Jobs and Responsibilities but not limited to: Establish Excellence in customer service upon family arrival Conveys a positive first impression reflecting favorably on CPE via phone, email or in person Ensures smooth operation of the welcome/check out desk and office, including scheduling/ changing appointments, patient reception, patient check-in and check out, handling of payments and receipts, processing mail and telephone reception Work closely with the clinical team to ensure smooth operation of the clinical area, including patient flow and processing of medical records. Checks in patients, verifies and updates necessary information to support accurate registration. Everyday has to scan lab work, physician notes, outside reports to patient charts Strong customer service skills Must have the ability to multitask Answers phones in professional manner Uses and maintains office equipment and has the ability to follow proper procedure for repairs and services to ensure optimization of the medical practice operations Understands and ensures insurance verification and pre-certification Complies with all policies and procedures of the medical office practice Organizes and manages time wisely Ability to sit for extended period Greet business associates and others who visit the office. May need to assist with patient referrals Acquire chief complaint of patient when scheduling appointment. Prepare patient chart and ensure confidentiality of all records Track and report daily scheduling metrics. Maintain patient records in billing/scheduling system. Perform simple bookkeeping such as collecting all patient balances and co-pays and post accurately Assure Family Welcoming Area and clerical office area is clean, neat and organized at all times. Maintains patient confidentiality regardless of source/medium; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice Assists families with complaints and take an active role in service recovery when needed Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions Attends continuing education meetings Performs additional duties as requested by
Manager or Team Leader/Supervisor Qualifications:
High School Diploma Some College Preferred > 1 year working experience in a medical office setting 3-5 years of customer service experience Strong oral communication skills Knowledge of medical terminology preferred Word processing and computer experience required EMR Electronic Medical Records knowledgeable preferred Customer service and strong interpersonal skills Typing, computer and office equipment knowledge required Proper telephone etiquette Strong organizational skills Detail orientated Must enjoy interacting with children and families Must be dependable/punctual Must be a team player
Salary/Benefits:
Starting Salary is $17.50-19.00/hr Monday-Friday; Hours may vary between 745 am and 6 pm; No weekends or major holidays Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life) Short Term Disability, Access to Long Term Disability 401K with company match
