Why You'll Love Working Here Mission-driven, community-focused organization Supportive, team-based culture Opportunities for career growth and development The chance to make a real impact in underserved communities What You'll Do & Bring As a Dental Patient Services Specialist (DPSS) , you'll serve as the first point of contact for patients—delivering exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations and ensuring a smooth dental visit experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide outstanding customer service to patients, families, and community partners Schedule appointments, confirm visits, and manage patient flow using OpenEMR Register patients, update demographics, and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA policies Answer calls, triage patient needs, and route communications appropriately Assist patients with insurance, payment plans, and Good Faith Estimates Collect payments, post transactions, and reconcile daily cash drawer Support both check-in and check-out processes, including follow-up scheduling Maintain organized workspaces, waiting areas, and patient-facing environments Address patient concerns professionally and escalate when needed
What You Bring:
High school diploma or GED At least 1 year of customer service experience in a medical or dental setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Working knowledge of office systems, EHRs, and multi-line phone systems Attention to detail with a patient-first mindset Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and care
