El Paso, TX Job Details Full-time 13 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Writing skills High school diploma or GED Clinical data entry Typing Quality data entry Full Job Description Job Summary Under close supervision and direction of the Patient Accounts Supervisor is responsible for total patient account management to include billing, collections and reconciliation of patient accounts with Third Party coverage. Also, responsible for total-account-management to ensure charity allowances and/or other coverage is applied, as appropriate. These accounts are the representative's responsibility from discharge until the account is reconciled as per payor contract terms and conditions and/or regulations, to include timely billing of secondary insurance coverage and assignment to bad debt.
Minimum Position Requirements Work Experience:
Minimum of six (6) months health care business office experience or related health care experience Medical billing, collections and/or managed care terminology required.
Education and training:
High School education or GED equivalent.
Skills:
Typing 35 WPM required. Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Analytical and problem-solving skills required. Familiar with computerized patient accounting systems preferred. Experience in medical management computer software preferred. Must have the ability to accurately enter data, describing appropriate follow-up activity. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party billing requirements preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with HCPCS and ICD9 coding preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Knowledge of computer software programs (Excel Preferred) and use of basic office equipment.
