Job Description
Overview We are seeking a Trauma Registrar, who is responsible for the collection, completion, and verification of the accuracy of all patient data collected from the Trauma Registry data collection system. This position is crucial to the implementation of quality assurance and improvement issues by serving as the foundation of the Trauma Program.

codes, and abstracts various data elements as required by the American College of Surgeons, the National Trauma Data Bank, Trauma Program, and DRMC Hospital. Will provide data and statistics from the trauma registry to the Trauma Manager monthly and as requested. Assist the Trauma Manager with trauma outreach efforts. This position is held accountable by the standards of the trauma registry and reports directly to the Trauma Manager. Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.You must have:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required;
- Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current required-Basic typing skills, computer literacy, and experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- 3 years clinical healthcare related experience
- Ability to multitask with prioritizing and meeting deadlines
Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Trauma data base training, preferred
- Data entry skills, knowledge of basic anatomy
ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM
coding, E-codes, and Injury Severity Scoring preferred- An understanding of quality assurance and process improvement preferred
- Experience with data analysis and report writing desired
- Certification Examination for Trauma Registrars
- CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registers) required within 6 months of hire.
- Current RN or LVN license, preferred.
