Job Description

Apply Job Type Full-time Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Helps translate for patients and staff as needed. 2. Properly identifies outpatients and transports them by wheelchair. 3. Checks to assure there is an adequate level of office supplies and stocks other Radiology supplies into storage or appropriate areas. 4. Helps in maintaining an adequate supply of linen in procedure rooms and patient gowns in imaging areas. 5. Assists with the general cleaning of the department; disinfecting work areas including computers, keyboards, phones, copier, etc. 6. Assures that patient exam reports are in PACS and CPSI. 7. Assists with the mailing of patient CDs and reports. 8. Properly completes patient information and corrects information through PACS. 9. Ability to correct patient information in PACS and CPSI by modality. 10. Checks all patient demographics on the physicians' order to make sure that the exams match the exams ordered and performed. 11. Verifies that reports have been dictated and signed by the Radiologist for each exam performed. 12. Makes copies of the reports and distributes as needed. 13. Makes sure that medical records can access patient reports whether through vRad or the
CPSI. 14.
Assists Director of Radiology with checking charges daily and assuring all information is correct with charges; if incorrect information on charges are present, then notifies the director of changes needing to be made. 15. Answers each call promptly and courteously. 16. Asks for help if unable to answer phones calls or attend patients when needed. 17. Deters from using the function of speaker phone in reception area due to confidentiality matters. 18. Provides clearly written messages to all specified employees when recipient of the call cannot be reached. 19. Acknowledges visitors presence and determines the assistance needed. 20. Routes visitors or patients to appropriate place or person. 21. Walks patients to appropriate destination when needed. 22. Notifies personnel of visitor's presence and needs. 23. Provides service direct to patients while maintaining a positive patient-relations atmosphere. 24. Follows safety guidelines and policies for the Hospital. Performs other duties as needed by the Director of Radiology. Requirements §
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent; ability to comprehend medical terminology and/or is aware on how to find definitions to medical terms. §
Personal Job-Related Skills:
Effective oral and written communication abilities; familiar with the operation of personal computers. §
Licensure, Registry or Certification:
None required. §
Experience:

Prior Work:
Two years of experience in a clerical or receptionist position. o
Technical Training:
Medical Terminology preferred. The ability to speak English/Spanish in a medical setting is required. §
Physical and Mental Requirement:
Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions.
